Can I get unbanned?

So, this is what happened 2 years ago. I was trying to play on Pedguin's Minigame Server, and I got kicked. It said it was for inappropriate username. I was confused, without realizing I actually played on the wrong account, which was right next to the real one. Then I joined again, joined spleef and noticed that I did it again. I said "I'm surprised they didn't kick or temp ban me again.." and I was Perm Banned for "ban evasion". I'm confused even to today. If you say that you're surprised you didn't get a sanction, you are seemingly evading a ban? If someone can help me, please tell me in replies.
